House Cleaning Questions, Answered
What Stratford households most often ask before booking a cleaner, from cost and keys to pets and move-out cleans.
Costs and Booking
How much does a house cleaner cost in Stratford?
Stratford-area cleaners commonly list rates of about $25 to $50 an hour for regular cleaning, and roughly $30 to $60 for deep or post-construction work. One-time jobs like deep cleans and move-outs often land somewhere between $180 and $400, depending on the home. We don't bill by the hour. You get one flat price per visit, agreed before your first clean.
How do you work out a flat price?
From your home and your checklist: bedrooms and bathrooms, size, how often we come, pets and any extras like the inside of the oven. The first visit may be priced higher, because it takes longer to bring a home up to standard.
How often should I have my house cleaned?
Every two weeks suits most households. Weekly is better with young kids, shedding pets or a very busy kitchen. Monthly works for tidy homes with one or two people. You can change your schedule later.
Can I book a one-time clean before guests or the holidays?
Yes. Book a deep clean a week or two before the date if you can. Late November and December are the busiest weeks of the year.
On Cleaning Day
What's the difference between a regular clean and a deep clean?
A regular clean maintains a home: kitchen and bathroom surfaces, dusting and floors. A deep clean adds the jobs that build up over months, like baseboards, door frames, vents, fixtures and the spots behind and under furniture.
Do I need to be home when you clean?
No. Many clients are at work. We record how to get in, lock up, set the alarm and handle pets, and follow those notes every visit.
Do you bring your own supplies?
Yes. Your cleaner arrives with the supplies and equipment for the job, so you don't need to buy anything. If you have products you prefer, or something you need us to avoid because of allergies or sensitive surfaces, it goes on your checklist.
Will I get the same cleaner each time?
That's our aim. Most regular clients see the same cleaner or small team. If someone is away, whoever fills in works from your same checklist.
What about pets?
Pets are fine. Tell us about them: where they'll be, whether they can go outside, and how much they shed. Shedding dogs and cats usually just mean a bit more vacuuming.
Moves, Rentals and Everything Else
What's included in a move-out clean?
Everything in an empty home: inside every cupboard and drawer, the oven, fridge and range hood, bathroom vanities, closet shelves, baseboards, sills and floors. See move-in and move-out cleaning for the full list.
Do you clean short-term rentals between guests?
Yes. We set up a checklist for your property and do turnovers between check-out and check-in. See rental turnover cleaning.
Are your cleaners insured and background checked?
Yes. We're insured, and every cleaner is background checked before they're sent to anyone's home.
What if I'm not happy with something after a clean?
Tell us within a day or two and we'll come back to fix anything that was missed. It's far better for us to hear about a miss and put it right than for you to quietly live with it, and your checklist gets updated so it doesn't repeat.
